Came here for food before travelling on to Southfork.
I ordered the pecan waffle and iced tea. The iced tea was delicious and so was the waffle but I should've used the maple syrup or the cream they offered. The waffle was huge.
The service was absolutely great!!! -

Exceptionally friendly staff. The food is above average for what you might expect. Waffles the size and shape of texas.
If yiubare stopping by to do the Southfork tour then this isn't far out of the way. -

This place is good! Perfect breakfast spot. Mostly an older crowd but good mix of families.
It's evidently been around for awhile but met the new owners today during our meal. Francisco, who's been in the industry for 25 years, and his family now running it.
Service is a little relaxed but it was still attentive once the owner had stopped by.
The food was good my meal came out perfect-eggs over medium, crispy bacon, and crisp hash browns.
The other meal was hash browns with stacked sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuit covered in gravy. Gravy was a little thin but that is preference
Perfectly priced for a neighborhood breakfast café. Looking forward to visiting again. -

Absolutely horrible.
We ordered through Grubhub because we wanted breakfast but didn't want to venture out with the kids this morning.
Not only did the order get messed up but we were also missing food. Our food also arrived ICE cold, as if it was sitting in a fridge waiting to be picked up.
I ordered the Denver omelet style scramble, with toast. Not only was there no flavor whatsoever to my eggs but the potatoes were also undercooked as well as no flavor at all. My "toast" was also two slices of raw Untoasted unbuttered bread.
Husband ordered the strawberries and cream waffle, for $11 we expected a lot more than an undercooked plain waffle that had no cream and wilted strawberries in a cup on the side. Literally a store bought frozen Eggo waffle tastes better.
Ordered two side orders of hash browns and only received one order.
We got plain pancakes for the kids and needless to say they both took one bite and refused to eat rest.
First and last time ever eating here. I get most restaurants will be better quality dining in but if you want to get and keep customers that quality should be the same no matter how the food is ordered.
At least Grubhub cares about their customers. -

I decided to visit again after learning that the cafe is under new ownership. My last visits were about three years prior. Those visits were disappointing as the food seemed to be microwaved leftovers.
I really wanted this time to be better. I love to support local establishments. Unfortunately this visit was mediocre at best. My order was the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, okra and a side salad.
The salad came first. They are very generous with the portions and topped it with fresh onions, cheese and, tomatoes. Additionally there was a generous amount of ranch dressing in a bowl. Unfortunately, the lettuce appeared to be old. There was very little green and too much yellow. Additionally, there were several wilted pieces. I was able to cull out the worst and drown the salad in ranch making it passable.
The main course came out as I was finishing my salad. Appearance was pleasant. The okra appeared to be from a package, about like you would expect from a fast food place. The mashed potatoes were creamy and smooth with just enough gravy to make a small topping. The chicken fried chicken seemed small, but was actually thicker than I expected. It was just about the perfect amount as a result. It was also topped with gravy. I noticed that the chicken seemed very bland. I was hoping for some seasoning to bring it to life. Generous amounts of salt did the trick, but seems like cheating.
The staff seemed very attentive and friendly. However my waitress must have been fighting allergies. On several occasions she cleared her sinuses and her throat in such a manner that I was certain she would need to spit. This is the kind of thing only teenage boys do to impress their friends, and adults do very much away from others. It was very loud and happened both out of sight and in the dining area. This is a real problem. It made it difficult to eat.
However, the value of the meal is a plus. An entree and three sides at a sit down restaurant for less than ten dollars is attactive. Perhaps this is a case of you get what you pay for. But I truly hope it is just growing pains for the new owners.
